Not sure which one?

Three quick questions, one kit that fits. Start with who it is for.

The first thing you notice is the layout. A black takedown bow lies across the frame, its riser in the centre and the two limbs curving away at the tips. Around it sit twelve arrows, a round foam target, an arm guard and a finger tab. Each archery set for beginners in this collection is built the same way: one box, every piece needed for a first session, nothing to source separately.

The pieces are matched to each other. The arrows suit the draw weight of the bow they come with. The target is dense enough to stop them at garden distances. The arm guard covers the inside of the forearm where the string passes, and the tab sits under three fingers of the drawing hand. Nothing in the box has to be checked against anything else.

In a back garden, the kit takes about ten minutes to assemble. The limbs slot into the riser, the string goes on, the target stands against a backstop. From there, the only variable left is the archer.

Complete recurve bow and arrow sets for adults and children

Three kits make up the collection, and the right one depends on who is shooting. The First Draw Starter Kit is for adults who have never held a bow. It comes in 20 or 30 lbs, and the bow has an arrow rest on both sides, so it fits left and right handed archers alike. Twenty pounds is the usual starting point. Thirty suits someone who has tried archery at a club taster.

The Next Step Kit is for a second season. The bow is stronger, at 30 or 35 lbs, and it comes in separate right and left handed versions. It is the kit for archers whose form is steady and who now want distance.

The First Draw Junior Kit is sized for ages 6 to 12. The bow draws at 15 lbs, the arrows end in suction cups, and the bow comes in five colours: green, blue, red, orange and black. A child picks the colour, an adult stays beside them.

If you already have the accessories and only need the bow, our recurve bows are sold on their own. If the kit is for someone else, the archery gifts collection groups the options that need no guesswork about hand or draw weight.

A beginner archery kit for the garden, chosen with every detail decided

Most beginners stall on the same questions. Which draw weight. Which hand. Which arrows fit. Each kit answers them before the box is opened. The draw weights are set where beginners actually start, the arrows are matched, and a step by step setup video walks through the assembly.

The kits work where most British archers start: a garden of ten to fifteen metres, a solid wall or fence behind the target, a few arrows before dinner. The bows are light enough to shoot thirty or forty arrows in an evening without tiring, which is how form improves. A heavy bow ends the session early. A light beginner archery kit keeps it going.
